Winter Private Events at Tranquillity Vineyard

Celebrations in Connecticut do not stop when the temperature drops. Tranquillity Vineyard & Winery sits on Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury, CT, and we are open year round, seven days a week from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Our indoor tasting room and private spaces stay warm and inviting through December, January, and February, which makes winter one of the easiest seasons to host a group here.

Why Winter Works for a Vineyard Celebration

Winter bookings at Tranquillity are typically baby showers, sip and sees, engagement parties, bridal showers, milestone birthdays, and company gatherings. Because the event is held indoors, there is no weather risk to plan around, and the lake views through the windows give you the vineyard setting without the chill. Winter dates also tend to be easier to secure than peak summer and fall weekends.

Choosing the Right Space for Your Group

Groups of 12 or more guests need a private reservation. We have four spaces, each suited to a different guest count:

  • Silo Seating — up to 8 guests
  • Wine Club Lounge — up to 15 guests
  • The Bullpen — up to 60 guests
  • The White Barn — up to 125 guests

What to Know Before You Book

Guests are welcome to bring their own food, and catering and food to-go options are available from our sister restaurants, Vyne and Brewbury. Outside beverages, including alcohol, are not permitted, as this supports our winery license. All furniture must remain in place, and outside furniture and decor are not permitted in order to preserve the historic property. A 30-minute grace period applies to late arrivals.

    Yes. Tranquillity Vineyard is open year round and hosts private events indoors throughout the winter. Our tasting room and private spaces are heated and comfortable from December through February, and winter dates are often easier to book than peak summer and fall weekends. Showers, engagement parties, birthdays, and company gatherings are all common winter bookings.

  • How many guests can you accommodate for a winter private event?

    Capacity depends on the space you choose. Silo Seating holds up to 8 guests, the Wine Club Lounge up to 15, The Bullpen up to 60, and The White Barn up to 125. Our Events & Guest Coordinator can recommend the right fit once you share your estimated guest count and date.

  • Can we bring our own food to a winter private event?

    Yes. Our indoor tasting room is open throughout the winter with farmhouse table seating, curated wine flights, and views of Lake Quassapaug. Outdoor seating is limited and weather dependent in the colder months, so our winter focus is on the indoor experience.
