Engagement Parties and Proposals at Tranquillity Vineyard

Looking for a proposal spot or engagement party venue in Connecticut that feels like it was made for the moment? Tranquillity Vineyard & Winery sits on a historic lakeside estate in Middlebury, CT, with sunset views over Lake Quassapaug, intimate private spaces, and wine made steps from where you will raise the toast.

Is Tranquillity Vineyard a good place to propose?

Yes, and couples do it here often. The Sunset Fire Lounge, a private fire pit setting for up to 6, is a favorite for golden hour proposals, while the Vineyard Terrace Tables put the vines and the lake behind you for the photo. Want privacy for the big question? The Historic Silo seats up to 8 at $150 for 2.5 hours, an unforgettable one of a kind room inside an original farm silo. Email ahead and the team can help you time the reservation to sunset.

Can I host an engagement party at the vineyard?

Absolutely. The Wine Club Lounge hosts up to 15 guests at $250 for 2.5 hours with a 6 bottle minimum, and White Barn farm tables seat up to 12 at $120 for groups that want to be in the middle of the energy. Larger celebrations can take the BullPen, our historic barn reserved exclusively for private events. For a full comparison by guest count, see our guide to choosing the right private space.

What should engaged couples know before booking?

Reservations run in 2 hour blocks and can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice, and our rain policy protects outdoor plans. Food and wine are purchased separately from the space, you are welcome to bring your own food or caterer, and food trucks are on site when available. That flexibility makes it easy to style the party your way, from cake and charcuterie to a full catered dinner.

From the proposal to the wedding day

Many couples who get engaged here come back for the wedding itself, and the same lakeside estate that framed the proposal photo hosts the ceremony. When you are ready for that conversation, start with our guide to planning a wedding at Tranquillity Vineyard.

How do I plan a proposal or engagement party here?

Email taste@tranquillityvineyard.com with your date and guest count, and mention if it is a surprise so the team can help it stay one. The lake, the light, and the wine are already here. All you need is the yes.
